7 Things to do this weekend to celebrate Halloween in Ludington, MI

Halloween is approaching, which means it's time for costumes, tricks and treats! Ludington will not disappoint on the spooks either! Check out this round-up of spooky and fun events for the whole family to celebrate Halloween this weekend. 


Spooky Slow Roll - Friday, October 27

Join the Shoreline Cycling Club for a fun and spooky slow roll bike ride around town Friday night beginning at 6 p.m. This event, which is intended for teens and adults, will feature scary surprises, raffle prizes, costume prixes and more! The group will be heading downtown for drinks to celebrate Halloween too!  Any and all bikes are welcome, as the ride is 100% on hard surface.

Run for Your Lives 5K/10K (and free 1 mile fun run) - Saturday, October 28

Runners part of the Run for Your Lives 5K and 10K will have to watch their step, as the routes take runners north of downtown and through sections of the cemetery! 10K runners will also get to experience the fall colors as they pass through beautiful Cartier Park.

Register online now, or starting at 8:30am day-of. View the 5K Route and 10K Route online. There will also be a free, 1-mile fun run for families and those who want to warm up for the other races.  


Paint A Pumpkin - Saturday, October 28

Sandcastles Children's Museum will hosting a pumpkin painting craft for kids.Admission is $6 per person. Under 1 year old is free. This will be a great activity for kids and familes before taking to the sidewalks of downtown for trick-or-treating.


Downtown Halloween Costume Parade - Saturday, October 28

We know how much work and thought goes into Halloween costumes, which is why Safe Harbor Credit Union is inviting kids and familes to parade them through town to show them off! Meet at the Mason County Courthouse before 1:45 p.m. It's a great kick-off to Downtown trick-or-treating, which starts at 2 p.m. If you just want to watch the parade, be sure to line the avenue between Harrison Street and Rath Avenue. 


Downtown Trick-of-Treating - Saturday, October 28

Businesses in downtown Ludington welcome families and kids to come trick-or-treating from 2-4 pm. on Saturday and take a peek at all of the great offerings available downtown. Stop by the North James Street Plaza and grab a picture of the kiddos on the decorated wagon too! 


The Hauntings of Big Sable Point Lighthouse - Saturday, October 28

The Hauntings of Big Sable Point Lighthouse, is an evening for the more curious and adventurous at heart! The journey begins the moment you enter the bus which will deliver you to Big Sable Point Lighthouse. You will then be guided by foot through stations both inside and out to investigate the after-hours mystery of ghost sightings that have been rumored to roam the grounds for many years. There is the only night to witness this as the mysterious wonder of these tales unfold.  Limited tickets are available for $13 online. (Recommended 13 years & up.)


LudRock's Night of Fright 5 - Saturday, October 28

Ludrock's Night of Fright 5 event benefits the Ludington Area Center for the Arts and is an evening of live music for all ages! Doors open at 6 p.m., and the party continues until 12 a.m. A cash bar will be available featuring local brewer, Starving Artist Brewing Company. The evening will also include a costume contest, so come out in your goulish and grand costumes! Oh, and we can't forget to mention, free candy! Admission is $5 per person, $2 for 12 & under.
