Show your love for Ludington by taking part in a weekend of activities to start off the summer season. June 8-9 will feature favorite, annual traditions like the Guinness World Record-Breaking Attempt and the Ludington Lakestride Half Marathon, 10K and 5K.
This summer’s 4th Annual Guinness World Record-Breaking Attempt is the World’s Largest Dessert Party. Ludington is going back to where it all started -- ice cream and good ol’ fashion desserts! Anyone is welcome to join the effort at 4 PM on June 8 in Rotary Park. The effort is determined by the number of persons eating a variety of desserts at one time. Participants will eat together to try to break the world record of 1,445 people, set in India in 2016. The first 2,000 people will get a free dessert and be a part of the documented record. Click HERE to register for the event. On-site registration begins at 3 PM.
The Ludington Lakestride is a quintessential event that attracts runners from around the globe. Take advantage of discounted, early registration fees now through April 13 at the ludingtonlakestride website. The 39th Annual Half Marathon begins at 8 AM, 5K at 8:10 AM and 10K at 8:15 AM on June 8-- all in front of Nader's Motel on Lakeshore Drive.
Explore a bit of Ludington history on Sunday by touring historic homes, now bed and breakfasts. The Historic Homes Tour, hosted by the Ludington Bed & Breakfast Association, is set for 1-4PM. Here's an opportunity to see the beautiful craftsmanship of the Lumber Era first hand. Tour cost is $10, and no stay is required.
The weekend culminates with the West Shore Pride Fest, celebrating LGBTQ pride with speakers, performers, community organizations and vendors. All are welcome to this free event at Rotary Park, 12-8 PM.
