Presented by Bell's Brewery and Ludington Bay Brewing Company, Octoberfest returns to Downtown Ludington on September 23-24. The weekend of fun will be marked by a rocking stage, craft beer, food, games and family-friendly activities.
The weekend kicks off with Beers for Peers from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. A portion of South James Street will be blocked to traffic for this event, featuring live music and pints from Mason County brewers. The block party will be put on by Jamesport Brewing Company, Ludington Bay Brewing Company and Starving Artist Brewery. Food will also be available for purchase, and games throughout the evening will provide a festive atmosphere. As an added bonus, merchandise sales will benefit Lakeshore Food Club.
Saturday brings craft beer, wine and cider, in addition to eats from local restaurants. Polka music begins at 1 p.m. at Legacy Plaza, followed by Jimmy Dodson at 3 p.m. and the band, Rocket Fuel Haulers, from 4-6 p.m. Admission is $5, and an early-bird ticket will get you in an hour early. Tokens for drinks will be sold on site.
Lawn games, including corn hole, Jenga, Yahtzee and badminton, will keep the family entertained.
