Looking for a special way to spoil your sweetie? Here are some unique ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Pure Ludington!
1. “Cupples Night”
The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is hosting a novel date night idea for couples: a pottery class in which you can create a pair of drinking glasses. Pizza is included in the February 13 workshop price ($45), and participants may also purchase tickets to that evening's “An Intimate Evening with Serita's Black Rose Duo” concert (2/$5). Space is limited, so call ahead.
2. Valentine’s Day Getaway
Members of the Ludington Bed & Breakfast Association are offering special deals for the holiday, complete with dinner, a cozy place to stay, drinks and music. One such romantic deal is the Valentine’s Day Getaway at the Ludington House B&B, February 14-16. The weekend features Friday and Saturday night parlor concerts with intimate "love songs only" setlists, delicious desserts, breakfasts, and a gift certificate for dinner out with your sweetheart. Call Ludington House to reserve your space.
3. Dinner Theater
The Diary of Adam & Eve is a play for one night only at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. This one-act play is adapted by Charles W. Whitman from the works of Mark Twain, and comically approaches the relationship between men and women and their challenges connecting to one another. This special Valentine’s Day performance will be preceded by a catered dinner catered of prime rib, chicken cordon bleu, rice, potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. Reservations must be made by February 12.
4. Valentine Sign Party
Spend time with your special someone and create some on-trend decor for your home. You will receive step-by-step instructions on how to make one or two wooden signs at this February 8 event. Choose from Red Rooster’s delicious hot/iced/frozen coffee drinks, hot cocoa, tea, chai, and more. Or try “Sip & Paint” at Timber’s Bar & Grill on February 15. Both events are perfect for couples!
5. Lantern-lit Snowshoe Hike
If an outdoor activity is more your style, try the snowshoe hike at the Ludington State Park. This evening event, 6-8 p.m. February 15, follows a romantic, lighted path through the park and is highlighted by two bonfires, where you can roast marshmallows or enjoy a hot cocoa.
National Touring Act from California, Jimmy Grant & Tommy Davy, will perform at matinee time on February 16 at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. This will be a performance dedicated to the music of Django Reinhart and the music of Eastern Europe. Third Coast Swing of Ludington will open for the act. This concert would be a great way to end your Valentine’s weekend.
Whether it’s dinner, art, music or just cozying by the fire, you won’t be disappointed in spending Valentine’s weekend in Pure Ludington.
