Known for beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets, the Sunset Beach Bonfire Series is a way to celebrate it all. On the last Thursday of June, July and August, you are invited to bring your beach chairs and blankets to Stearns Park Beach to enjoy a true Up North evening that includes a bonfire, music and, of course, a beautiful sunset.
Mark your calendars for these upcoming events in 2023:
- June 29 - Featuring RetroVibe Band of Grand Haven: a group of experienced musicians who are eager to play an eclectic and diverse brand of Classic Rock, R&B Soul, Blues, British Invasion. Their song selections include the Beatles, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, the Doobie Brothers, Tears For Fears, Queen and more.
- July 27 - Featuring Steely: Ravon Rhoden has established himself as one of the most innovative and vital voices in modern reggae. Born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, his music pays tribute to legends like Bob Marley and Dennis Brown, while pushing the genre into bold new territory. He is the first major reggae artist to accompany his vocals on the steel drum, an instrument which gives him his signature sound.
- August 31 - Featuring Coconut Radio: Award-winning violinist and Trop Rock nominee, Sue Kittredge, and singer/songwriter, Steve Reeths, of Coconut Radio have been playing dumps and palaces from Chicago and Nashville down to Tampa and Key West since meeting in 1992. The music of Coconut Radio is meant to share that feeling, those emotions one feels sharing a cold one with friends at the tiki bar or watching a beautiful sunset. The Destin, Florida newspaper, The Beachcomber, writes, "(Coconut Radio’s release 'Gone Bamboo') is the perfect soundtrack for your spring and summer."
Celebrate summer with golden sands, cool water, warm fire and beautiful sky. Sunset Bonfires are open to the public and free to attend, from 8-10 PM.
