Colonial Cooking with Alisa Crawford
August 15, 2026
Description
In celebration of America’s 250th (or the semiquincentennial), we wanted to offer a program topic that visitors could really sink their teeth into! Alisa Crawford’s Colonial Cooking program offers a historic look into the recipes used and how ingredients were obtained during the 18th century. Drawn from her training and experience recreating foods from recipes in eighteenth-century cookbooks and working over open hearths in colonial kitchens such as the Governor’s Palace kitchen at Colonial Williamsburg and at Fort Michilimackinac, Alisa Crawford, historian and author, shares the history, knowledge and secrets of colonial cooking. Audience participation of tasting samples is encouraged!
