Now that we’re in the long, lazy days of summer, you’ve got even more daylight to enjoy your #PureLudington visit. Continue your outdoor fun over an al fresco meal at a Ludington patio near you.
Pub Patios and Beer Gardens
Ludington’s top craft beer and spirits establishments feature inviting outdoor spaces. Ludington Bay Brewing Company has a spacious, 1,500-square-foot patio complete with a fire pit and fireplace if there’s a chill in the air. And cocktail bar Barley & Rye (with the largest whiskey and scotch collection in the area) has a cozy courtyard patio out back with twinkly lights. Mitten Bar patrons can cut through to the adjoining establishment and use the courtyard as well.
Want a water view while sipping a cocktail and munching on appetizers? We’ve got you covered. Hit the large back deck of Jamesport Brewing Company for a breezy spot with views of Pere Marquette Lake and Lake Michigan. Or enjoy the seasonally changing menu at Ludington’s classic dining establishment, P.M. Steamers, with a patio view of the Ludington marina in Pere Marquette Lake. If you time it right, you might see the historic S.S. Badger go in or out of port from either patio!
More Outside Dining
For a skyline view of the city, climb the hidden staircase to “Over the Moon,” Blue Moon Bistro’s rooftop patio featuring a more casual menu from its downstairs counterpart, with favorites like lobster nachos and poutine. Additionally, a sidewalk patio at the street level serves food from the bistro menu – plus your pooch can join you. For fun people-watching, snag an outside table overlooking Ludington Avenue at Table 14, Ludington’s newest fine dining establishment featuring Charleston-inspired dishes, or Italian favorite Luciano’s Ristoranti across the street. For a quieter corner, head around the block to Café 106 for a scrumptious brunch at an outside table. Looking for a casual dining experience that’s light on the wallet? Head east from downtown Ludington on U.S. 10 to The 10 Spot, Ludington’s new food truck area, featuring the Lakeside Wiener Wagon & BBQ and KRAVE Frozen Yogurt food truck. Seating area and lawn games provided!
Want the ultimate outdoor dining locale? Pick up one of these great to-go options for a gourmet picnic at your own outdoor dining spot in an area park or along Lake Michigan. Grab a “Beach Box” at Ludington Bay Brewing featuring a cold sandwich, chips and side (or upgrade with an added six-pack of craft beer) or order a custom-built sandwich with in-house smoked meats at Biercamp Market. For a more hearty option, Q Smokehouse offers delicious hot meats like chicken, beef brisket, pork tenderloin and chopped pork smoked daily onsite, plus tasty southern sides like smoked baked beans, mac and cheese, collard greens, coleslaw and “Not your Mama’s Potato Salad” along with sauces and pickled condiments. Order ala cart, single meals, or family combo meals.
