Outdoor Dining, Restaurants & Patios in Ludington, Michigan

There’s no better place than Pure Ludington to find fresh air, waterfront views and excellent entrees. So we’ve compiled a list of our favorite outdoor patios for you to enjoy!

Pub Patios and Beer Gardens

A Biergarten at Stix(goes to new website) is the latest addition to the outdoor dining scene in Ludington. The restaurant on M-116 held a grand opening celebration this spring to spotlight its tastefully decorated outdoor space that offers its own exclusive food and drink menu. The garden features lighting, a pavilion, and yard games. Stix has also added an inviting deck overlooking the Biergarten, as well as seating at seven fire pits.

A beautiful portside garden with views of Pere Marquette Lake and Lake Michigan can be found at Jamesport Brewing Company(goes to new website). Or have dinner on the deck with seasonal favorites like Hefeweizen and Blueberry Wheat – and why not grab some lake perch or a burger to go with your drink?

Ludington Bay Brewing Company (goes to new website)has a spacious 1,500-square-foot patio that is often the place to catch Ludington’s live, local musicians performing. The patio is also complete with a fire pit and fireplace if there’s a chill in the air. There are 24 beers on tap, and you won’t want to miss Summer Fling, a local seasonal favorite.

Ludington Meat Company and Q Smokehouse both serve delicious hot meals with meat smoked daily. Grab a custom-built sandwich to enjoy on the patio or grab one to go and take in everything Ludington has to offer!

New to Ludington, Tokyo Hibachi & Sushi Bar features a full sushi menu, poke bowls, and Korean dishes – and has outdoor patio seating. Be sure to check out the full bar and beautiful decor inside.

Waterfront & Riverfront Dining

Ludington’s newest waterfront restaurant, The Perch offers flavorful food and creative cocktails, paired with unbeatable views of Hamlin Lake. Whether you’re arriving by car or by boat, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal with a side of sunshine.

Choose from small plates, handheld sandwiches, and entrees including steak and seafood varieties. This is one stop you don’t want to miss!

Doc’s on the River in Free Soil serves fresh, hearty dishes – the bar and restaurant has become a local favorite. Its lively outdoor space along the river is perfect for friends and family to gather, play, and dine with scenic views.

Coming soon, Fins Beach Club will provide a wholesome dining experience with an innovative menu and stunning views of Emerson Lake, with its own beach and sand dunes. Whether you’re enjoying a phenomenal dinner or stopping by for cocktails with your toes in the sand, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed, memorable outing.

Picnic To-Go & Casual Bites

If you’re headed to the park or beach, Pier to Pier Picnics has to-go options like crepes, smoothies, and sandwiches to fuel your day.

New in 2025, PITBowls is a food truck with a picnic area, serving fresh, flavorful, pit-inspired signature pit bowls with real ingredients for a healthier option. Choose from chipotle. BBQ, teriyaki, Mediterranean, hot honey, acai smoothie, or build your own!

Sidewalk Cafes

Open for breakfast and lunch, Trail’s End Baking Company specializes in quiches, sandwiches, soups, and bakery items in Downtown Ludington and has space for dining outdoors.

For dinner, Timbers Prime has everything from fresh seafood to flavorful pasta, poultry dishes and dry-aged steaks – this 5-star menu satisfies all palates. Enjoy the award-winning wine selections while you dine indoors or outdoors on the sidewalk.

At the Plaza

Adjacent to Legacy Plaza with ample outdoor seating, Keeper’s Fish Shack(goes to new website),serves to-go fish and seafood from both salty and fresh waters. Here, you can also grab a beer or cocktail to enjoy with your dinner.

Additionally, nearby Cluck Bucket serves a variety of chicken dishes and sandwiches, soft warm pretzels and amazing coffee drinks. While you’re at Legacy Plaza, you might even catch some live music on Thursdays and Fridays (summers, 6-8 p.m.).
