Lantern-lit Snowshoe Hikes Bring a Warm Ambiance to Winter Evenings at Ludington State Park
In Pure Ludington, we fully embrace the beauty of each season, and winter is a particularly magical time. The fresh layer of snow transforms the landscape into a winter wonderland, creating a serene and picturesque outdoor playground just waiting to be explored.
This winter, make it a priority to visit Ludington State Park, a gem that’s perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails are perfect for six free, lantern-lit snowshoe hikes that provide a phenomenal look through the park at nighttime.

Friends of the Ludington State Park volunteers are hosting a series of lantern-lit hikes that will leave you feeling invigorated by the crisp, cool air and the tranquility of nature all around.
Each event is slated for 6-8 p.m. and open to the public, free of charge, on December 13 (2025), January 10, January 24, February 7, February 21 and March 7 (2026).

Parking will be in the lot at the end of the newly expanded lot at the park’s entrance. Meet at the warming shelter, where snowshoes will be available to rent, free of charge. The route will be marked with lanterns, and there will be a bonfire at the amphitheater where you can warm up and meet some new friends.
Embrace the wonders of winter and create unforgettable memories in Ludington this season!
