Pure Ludington’s Music Spots Heat up Winter Nights
Looking for a place to kick up your heels and stay warm on a wintry night? Try one of Pure Ludington’s music hot spots – where local- and Michigan-based bands keep listeners cozy with their melodies — and friends gathered together make your evenings memorable.
The Mitten Bar is a favorite place to meet for eclectic artists. Names like All American Funk Parade, Luke Winslow-King, and Delilah DeWylde have come to Ludington to play here. The small atmosphere of the pub lends to its close-knit feel, and many patrons have become members of the exclusive Mug Club. Don’t miss the dozen rotating craft beers the Mitten has on tap, or order your favorite in a bottle.

Welcoming a number of local artists to play in its tap room, Ludington Bay Brewing Co. is a gathering spot for music on weekends. Warm up by the fireplace and grab your favorite from among 24 brews on draft – even take a peek at the brewing facility inside. Come hungry, and try the brewery’s homemade mac and cheese or crab rangoon pizza. The brewery also offers a Mug Club for lasting deals.

Jamesport Brewing Co. is a spot you might catch a local acoustic set with a regular lineup of artists. The brewery has a full menu and up to 14 craft beers on tap, so check out the weekend musical acts here.
Under new ownership, the SandBar on James Street is a newly revitalized Ludington staple. It’s a welcoming, clean, and energetic environment for locals and visitors alike with live music every Saturday night. Known for its elevated bar food, outstanding live music, and a “no-cover-ever” vibe, the owners have transformed the former dive into a fresh space with great food, cold drinks, and friendly service. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, catching the game, or enjoying a late-night band, The SandBar is your go-to neighborhood hangout.
The Performing Arts Series at West Shore Community College hosts a variety of national and international acts throughout the year, so be sure to check out who’s going to be on stage next! Coming in February, audiences will enjoy The Crucible, followed by the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band in March.

You might also catch one of many concerts held at Ludington Area Center for the Arts. This spring, enjoy a performance by Ben Traverse & The Little River Ceili Band on March 8 and Americana-infused gypsy jazz from Harmonious Wail on March 13.
