Outdoor Dining Options for Summer in Ludington
Ludington restaurants are offering outdoor dining options and services that are new for summertime. We’ve caught up with local establishments to find out what they’re doing, so we can let you know where to find options that will make your dining experience comfortable.
Here’s where you can find Lake Michigan breezes as you enjoy a socially distant meal al fresco:
Waterfront Views
Jamesport Brewing Company is a popular spot with a deck overlooking Pere Marquette Lake and Lake Michigan. Its staff members wear masks for your safety, and you won’t be disappointed in the Ludington-brewed beer and chef-crafted entrees, which you can enjoy outside with your crew. Jamesport has also added a picnic table area overlooking the marina, where you can take a to-go order.
Just a few doors down on James Street, Timbers Bar & Grill has an outdoor deck and menu featuring fresh steaks and seafood, raw bar and drink specials.
Pub Patios and Beer Gardens
Ludington Bay Brewing Company has a spacious 1,500-square-foot patio that is often the place to catch Ludington’s local musicians performing. There are 24 beers on tap, and you won’t want to miss Summer Fling, a seasonal favorite. Sportsman’s Restaurant & Bar is a great place to grab a pizza, wings or a burger to-go, with your favorite brew from the adjacent Mitten Bar – and you can take it all to the outdoor courtyard seating.
Curbside Dining
For a skyline view of the city, climb the hidden staircase to Over the Moon, Blu Moon Bistro’s rooftop patio, featuring a more casual menu from its downstairs counterpart, like lobster nachos and poutine. Additionally, a sidewalk patio at the street level serves sushi and entrees from the bistro menu – plus, your pooch can join you.

Picnic Takeout
Offering slow-roasted barbecue with Southern sides, The Q Smokehouse has added a pick-up window, as well as outdoor seating. It offers delicious hot meals like chicken, beef brisket, pork tenderloin and chipped pork, smoked daily on site, and the restaurant has family picnic deals for the Fourth of July holiday.
A food truck with a picnic area, offering chicken dishes and sides, is the Cluck Bucket on Pere Marquette Highway. Try the roasted half chicken meal, pulled chicken sandwich or chicken nachos. It also has a downtown location at 102 W. Ludington Avenue.
If you’re looking for ice cream takeout, get curbside service at House of Flavors Restaurant or head into Kilwin’s for a tasty, hand-dipped cone.
