WSCC Professor Mike Nagle presents, “If the Declaration of Independence could talk, what story would it tell?”

• • • Adoption of the Declaration of Independence in July 1776 provides an opening chapter in the story we tell ourselves as Americans about the foundation of our country. It is a tale that unites us as fellow citizens and charts our moral progress as a nation. If it was able, would this founding document describe itself as revolutionary when it was adopted 250 years ago? Would it be content with the way the American experiment in democracy has evolved over time? Join professor of history and political science, Mike Nagle on Thursday April 9 beginning at 7pm at the downtown Mason County Historical Society, as he traces the story of how the Declaration of Independence’s ideals concerning freedom and liberty have impacted the course of American history.
