Celebrate 50 Years of Historic White Pine Village!

Join us as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Historic White Pine Village with a day filled with history, community, music, and special activities for all ages.

Thanks to the generous support of West Shore Bank, admission to Historic White Pine Village will be FREE for all visitors on July 3. Their sponsorship allows the community to come together and enjoy this milestone celebration while experiencing one of West Michigan’s most treasured historical attractions.

As part of the celebration, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Village, recognize those who helped make it possible, and be among the first to experience newly renovated exhibits that will help tell Mason County’s story for generations to come.

Event Schedule

10 a.m. | Village opens

10 – 11 a.m. | Complimentary coffee & donuts under tent (while supplies last)

10:30 – 11:15 a.m. | 50th Anniversary presentation

  • Remarks on the history and impact of Historic White Pine Village
  • Recognition of supporters and community partners
  • Reflections on the Village’s first 50 years and vision for the future

 11:20 – 11:50 a.m. | Exhibit unveiling & ribbon cutting

  • Proclamation by Michigan State Representative Curt Vanderwall
  • Ribbon-cutting ceremony by Ludington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau
  • Opening of the newly renovated Fire Barn and Blacksmith Shop exhibits

12 p.m.| Flag raising & patriotic music – Pere Marquette Town Hall

In honor of America’s 250th, join us for a patriotic moment accompanied by the Custer Veterans of Foreign Wars and the West Michigan Patriotic Choir.

12 – 3 p.m. | Ice cream social – sponsored by House of Flavors

Gather with family and friends around the Pere Marquette Township Hall and enjoy complimentary ice cream with all the fixings. (while supplies last)

Experience “History in Action” 12 – 4 p.m.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors can enjoy demonstrations and activities across the Village, including:

• Blacksmith docent
• Candle dipping
• Weaving
• Farmhouse cooking and laundry
• Sawmill demonstrations
• Railroad interpretation
• Marchido School marm
• and more!

This special anniversary celebration honors the vision of those who founded Historic White Pine Village in 1976 while showcasing exciting improvements that will guide the Village into its next 50 years. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the past, enjoy the present, and look toward the future of this remarkable community treasure.
